Frequently asked questions
-
Where are you located?
We are in Historic Downtown Madison, Alabama, at 105 Church Street, serving the greater Huntsville area and Redstone Arsenal.
-
What services do you offer?
Haircuts including military, fades and custom work, beard trims and shaping, hot towel straight razor shaves, line-ups and edge work, men's color and waxing. Perms, deep conditioning, beard straightening, facials and massage are on the services page and marked coming soon.
-
Do you take walk-ins?
When a chair is open, yes. Reservations come first, because demand is high and a reserved slot is one that is actually yours.

Are you open to civilians or just military personnel?
We proudly serve both military and civilian clients. Everyone is welcome at Tactical Grooming.
-
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, credit and debit cards, and contactless payments including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
A three percent surcharge applies to credit transactions. Debit cards are excluded.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. No-shows or last minute cancellations may result in a charge or the loss of online booking privileges.
Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may be rescheduled or denied service. Three violations are allowed before penalties apply.
-
Do you sell grooming products?
Yes. Beard oils, washes, butters, pomades and shaving products are available in the shop and online.
-
Do you offer services for kids?
Yes, kids of all ages are welcome. Book earlier in the day for younger children, when the shop is quietest.
Clients under 16 require parental consent.
-
Can I request a specific barber?
Yes. Pick your preferred barber during booking, and prebook your next appointment before you leave to keep that chair and that time slot.
-
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes, gift cards are available in any amount and can be used for services or products.
-
What does dual-licensed actually mean?
It means holding both a barber and a cosmetologist license from the state of Alabama, so one person can handle the cut, the straight razor and color in one appointment. Most of our team carries both.
-
Is there parking?
Yes, there is parking in Historic Downtown Madison near the shop on Church Street.
Downtown gets busier around events and on Saturday mornings. Leaving a few extra minutes is worth it.
